To bring greater structure and continuity to the commitment we have always shown toward people, the community, and the environment, Comacchio began a sustainable transition in 2023. Building on the responsible practices already in place, we are now integrating them more systematically across the organization - allowing us to manage our resources more effectively and generate not only economic, but also social and environmental value. Starting in 2024, we share the results of this journey with our stakeholders through our annual Sustainability Report.
In 2023, we established an ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) team composed of specialists from across our organization. This group is responsible for ensuring that ESG initiatives are developed in a structured, collaborative manner—through effective project management, performance monitoring, and regular reporting on progress toward our goals. These efforts are supported by a streamlined and agile decision-making process that fosters direct communication and close collaboration between shareholders and company leadership. Our governance model is rooted in transparency, accountability, and shared responsibility.
We believe it is essential to operate not only in full compliance with current regulations, but also in accordance with the ethical and moral principles we choose to uphold—principles clearly articulated in our Code of Ethics.
We are dedicated to minimizing our environmental impact and reducing the carbon footprint of our operations through sustainable technologies, alternative energy sources, and targeted energy-saving initiatives. We embrace a responsible model of consumption and production that reduces waste, promotes recycling, and encourages the reuse of materials. Our drilling rigs are designed with the principles of the circular economy in mind. They are built using durable materials and regenerable components that extend their lifespan while creating both environmental and economic value. We have optimized our painting processes to reduce solvent use and emissions, and we are actively developing alternative engines to replace diesel. We continue to lead in implementing solutions that lower emissions, decrease fuel consumption, optimize energy use, and reduce the volume of oil required in hydraulic systems. Our ongoing goal is to enhance energy efficiency and support an ecological transition that fosters sustainability across the entire production chain.
